A little song for all of us Moms in honor of Mother’s Day this Sunday.
Hat tip to my friend, Lisa Wallace-Baker who shared this with me back in November.
Helping Washington State homeowners learn more about their mortgage options.

I should stop saying how long I’ve been around the real estate industry! On May 1, 1986, a very bright-eyed and naive young Rhonda Christopherson, began my first “real job” at Safeco Title Insurance Company as a doc-puller (we were bought a year later by Chicago Title, where I worked in Unit 5).
After 14 years in the title industry, I made the move to mortgage and I’ve been helping Washington families with their Mortgage Planning needs for the past 8 years…the rest is history!
Yes…that is Chuck Knox, that was my hair style in the 80s and yes, I’m wearing yellow Reeboks with actual jersey.
I love gardening and photography…so taking pictures of my garden is just something I enjoy doing! These photos are from this morning.
Just a week ago, we were soaking in blue skies and warm sunny 70 plus degrees. This photo is probably the last of my cherry blossoms. It was so nice out that we move the last surviving plant (an Angel Trumpet) out of the garage and I pruned my roses.
My husband and I decided to finally get rid of some shrubs that I was never a big fan of. I have no idea what they are–except they have to be pruned back every year and they don’t bloom or change color. I’m sure one of my readers will tell me these are terrific plants and I just didn’t show it the right love. Alas, they’re gone now (we did keep one)!
Our home older and the garden is a little over crowded. We replaced the four "green shrubs" with a variegated hydrangea and two black lace elderberries. A week earlier Gardening with Cisco raved about black lace elderberries and so I was thrilled to find a few at our local nursery. I’ll follow up with an "after" post assuming our new plants made it through our bizarre freezing weather this weekend.
How perfect that not only is it Good People Day, that it also JP Patches 80th birthday. If you’re a long time reader of Mortgage Porter, you know I’m a Patches Pal who has watched him since I was a tyke.
Today’s article in the Seattle PI also announced that the Statue will be complete and unveiled in Fremont on August 17, 2008! Donations are still needed and JP’s handsome mug will remain on my blog (right side of the page) until the fundraising is complete.
It looks like the statue has changed from what was previously unveiled…I wonder if it
was the finger issue? During the unveiling at Fremont last year, the statue featured waving hands of the duo and someone (can’t remember if it was JP, Gertrude or from the crowd) said…"wonder how long until someone breaks off the fingers leaving just one?"
A tip of the hat to The Tim of Seattle Bubble.
I’m a big fan of Gary Vaynerchuck for many reasons:
Gary has declared today as "Good People Day"…a day to recognize all the good in people instead of focusing on all the negative that often surrounds us.
I’m so fortunate to have so many wonderful people in my life and I thank you all from family, friends, clients, my blog readers, fellow bloggers, the many people who help us in our business transactions and daily life…I can go on and on and on. The world is a great place and I thank Gary for reminding us of this and a big tip of the hat to Morgan Brown of Blown Mortgage–both Good People! My heartfelt thanks to all of you.
Share the love and spread the word: today is Good People Day.
Here’s a tip from my husband: don’t scratch your back using the wrong side (or should I say write side) of a ball point pen.
They’re buying contingent and are having a difficult time getting their current residence sold. (Wink wink). Their agent promotes the property as:
Unique, west facing, mid-century modern waterfront home with lots of water views and private spaces. Many bedrooms, baths & kitchen. A must see! Click here for the website.
Hat Tip to Lisa Wallace-Baker. I needed a laugh today! And no, this is not her listing.
On a more serious note, Friday’s rates are posted at Rain City Guide. I’ll post rates here a little later as rates continue to be very volatile.
