18 years ago, I created The Mortgage Porter. I was frustrated with how the news was wrongly reporting that all loan officers were going to be licensed – which simply was wrong. Loan officers who work for depository banks or credit unions are not required to be licensed. We are held to different standards, which is unfortunate…but I digress. It’s hard to believe that 15 years ago, I began “blogging” with The Mortgage Porter. When I started this blog late November 2006, I would have never imagined that it would become such an important part of my mortgage career.
I’ve met some wonderful people and have had amazing experiences that would have not happened had I not started typing out my first post about the beginning of mortgage originators being licensed (or just registered if they work for a bank or credit union). I would have never imagined that I would be interviewed, be asked to speak at events and that I would wind up attracting clients I really enjoy working with all from blogging. I am so honored to be included on the list (and future calendar…I think they’re teasing) of Sellsius Top 12 Women Bloggers for 2007.
When I started, I wasn’t sure anyone would read my blogs let alone that I would receive any recognition. I am absolutely amazed and honored to be associated with this group of ladies.
It was wonderful to get to know Rudy and Joe from Sellsius during Blog Tour USA. Having this nod come from them makes it even sweeter!
