18 years ago, I created The Mortgage Porter. I was frustrated with how the news was wrongly reporting that all loan officers were going to be licensed – which simply was wrong. Loan officers who work for depository banks or credit unions are not required to be licensed. We are held to different standards, which is unfortunate…but I digress. I’m here to celebrate the 18th anniversary of my blog, The Mortgage Porter.
When I started this blog, there were not a lot of fellow mortgage bloggers. The “blogosphere” is a lot more crowded today than it was in 2006.
I’m very proud of The Mortgage Porter. I’ve published over 2060 posts and have received almost 3000 comments that are published (not spam or trashed). I’ve met so many wonderful people, including clients who read the blog and found useful information. I’ve also received so many fun opportunities to travel and speak at various events as well as interviews by national publications. It’s been a lot of fun for this introvert!
My main purpose of writing here is to help people make educated decisions about their mortgage, home buying, finances and credit tips. As long as I’m helping people with their mortgage needs, I hope to continue blogging.
