According to the Wall Street Journal, these figures will also be our temporary conforming loan limits.
"The upper mortgage limits also will apply to loans purchased or guaranteed by government-sponsored mortgage companies Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac, FHA officials said."
More information will follow as I receive it. Remember, these higher loan limits are only through the end of 2008.
Thurston County loan limits have not changed even though the ad says they have. When are they going to equal the other state counties?
Gina, they indeed have changed effective when I wrote this post…you can check out HUD’s site. Perhaps the lender you’re working with does not offer FHA? Many brokers do not. If I can be of assistance or if you need help with a personal scenario, please email me.
Gina, I’m re-reading your comment. Thurston County will not “equal” the other counties. The loan limit for a single family dwelling has increased from $274,550 to $361,250 through the end of 2008. Then, unless Congress and/or HUD passes an extension, the loan limit will roll back to $274,550.
I anticipate that there will be an extension of the higher loan amount.
