Wow! That’s great news for folks in Chelan and Douglas Counties. I believe that is up from $322,000 or so. A year ago we were in the mid $200k range. Suddenly it’s easy for someone to buy a home in Leavenworth using FHA.
Geordie, your area did go up. I was pouting so much about Seattle, I didn’t see the good news about Leavenworth.
so if you lie in seattle and you want to get an FHA mortgage over 417k but under 506k, do you have to pay a higher rate?
Just curious, if you live in Seattle and your loan amount is over $362,790 for FHA and under $506k, you will most likely pay a higher rate.
It depends on how pricing is at the time of the lock. It may be possible for the rates to be the same…it seems as though the difference between FHA and FHA “high balance” ($362,791-$506,000) is about 0.25% to rate on average.
I have to correct my last comment, FHA insured loans $417k and lower may receive a slightly better rate in King, Pierce and Snohomish Counties. Loans $417,001-$506k are considered FHA Jumbo for these counties.
