Better late than never!

I’m just now starting to see signs of some ripe tomatoes from my garden pots.

I’m sure they’ll be worth the wait.   We’ve had such a lackluster summer that these fellas will be lucky to ripen on the vine.

  1. Funny. We grew tomatoes for the first time this year. Ironically, they are called “mortgage lifters”. Don’t ask me why, but that is what the label said when we bought the plant. We got three really ripe tomatoes and before we could eat them, some mangy squirrel came and got them!

We also grew some bell peppers and those things rocked. We have three more tomatoes growing now, so hopefully they won’t get stolen again.

  2. Russ, I would love to plant some mortgage lifters! Our tomatoes are on our back deck…if they were in the front yard, I’m sure the squirrels would help themselves. 🙂 Good luck!
